Former governor of California and legendary actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger was attacked on Saturday during a sporting event in South Africa.

According to sources, the 71-year-old former governor was in a sporting event called the Arnold Classic Africa at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg when the attacker suddenly kicked him in the back.

In a video of the incident shared online, the “Terminator” actor was watching and videoing a jump-rope competition and taking photographs with fans when a man jumped and kicked him hard in the back. The attacker was quickly detained by Schwarzenegger’s security and dragged away.

Following the attack, Schwarzenegger posted on Twitter “nothing to worry about”.

“Thanks for your concerns, but there is nothing to worry about,” he wrote.

“I thought I was just jostled by the crowd, which happens a lot. I only realized I was kicked when I saw the video like all of you. I’m just glad the idiot didn’t interrupt my Snapchat.”

At the time of this post, it is still unclear why the attacker did that.
