American social media users had mixed reactions when they woke up Monday morning to see a tweet from Bill Cosby all the way from prison.

“Hey, Hey, Hey…It’s America’s Dad,” wrote the Cosby accounts. “I know it’s late, but to all of the Dads… It’s an honor to be called a Father, so let’s make today a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose — strengthening our families and communities.”

The message was followed by several hashtags, including #HappyFathersDay, #RenewedOathToOurFamily and #FarFromFinished.

Both Twitter and Instagram accounts of Bill Cosby sent out a message on Sunday night, saying “America’s Dad” wanted to make the day “a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose.”

The messages came just minutes after O.J. Simpson fired off a tweet from his newly created twitter account. He included a video about him sleeping with Kris Jenner — and concluded with a “Happy Father’s Day!” wish.

While it’s unclear if Cosby, a man locked up in Pennsylvania prison since Sep 25, 2018, even had a hand in writing the post, American social media users were quick to fire back

“Strengthen families by not being unfaithful to your wife, by not treating young women like they’re on the menu, and by not being a bad example to young men. Asshole,” tweeted illustrator Colleen Doran.

“First OJ, now this? Blocked in a New York Minute,” wrote another person.

Simpson’s Father’s Day message focused on accusations that he slept with Kris Jenner, who was then married to his former lawyer, Robert Kardashian. “The Juice” closed out the video by wishing his 574,000 followers a “Happy Father’s Day” and telling them to “take care.”

“Father’s day is cancelled,” joked one Twitter user.

The popular comedian, Bill Cosby was sentenced Tuesday Sep 25, 2018. Cosby was sentenced three to 10 years in prison for drugging and molesting a much younger woman in 2004 — the culmination of a stunning saga of sexual assault allegations that sent the comedian’s fun-loving-family-man legacy up in flames.
