A prostitute has been charged in connection with the drug-overdose deaths of three men—including the head chef of a New York restaurant – Cipriani restaurant in Manhattan.
A criminal complaint filed in federal court allege that a prostitute, Angelina Barini, provided a lethal dose of fentanyl and some unknown substance to Zamperoni, which caused him to overdose inside the Kamway Lodge & Tavern in Elmhurst.
Court papers say that Barini, 41, and her pimp drug their customers, and even rob some of them once they are incapacitated.
The first victim died on July 4 at a hotel in Astoria, New York, where Barini was caught leaving the room on videotape, authorities said. They said the man died of a lethal cocktail of booze, meth, cocaine, and fentanyl.
On July 11, a second victim, Jean-Alessandro Silvero, died. He reportedly died of a fentanyl overdose at a Woodside motel in New York where Barini was again allegedly caught on videotape.
The man’s mother, Norrele Silvero described her son’s death at the hands of a prostitute as a “bad dream,” according to reports.
“It’s still surreal at this point,” she said, speaking after Barini’s court appearance Monday. “Difficult for a mom to see this event right in front of our faces.”
Andrea Zamperoni, 33, head chef at Cipriani Dolci in Midtown’s Grand Central Terminal, was the third victim. Authorities said his body was found lifeless in a Queens motel after spending time with Angelina Barini in the last two months.
Court papers say that officers entered the chef’s room in the boarding house around 8:30 p.m. and encountered the stench of decay masked with incense when Barini opened the door.
Zamperoni, originally from Italy, was found stuffed in a garbage can with his foot sticking out at the Kamway Lodge on 77th St. in Elmhurst last Wednesday, a few blocks from his home, authorities said.
“In the corner of the room, law enforcement authorities noticed what appeared to be a garbage can with bed linens stuffed inside and what appeared to be a bare, human foot sticking out of the bed linens,” court documents say.
Barini told officers “she did not do it, her pimp made her do it and it was not her.” Barini later admitted to providing the chef drugs, The Post reported, citing court documents.
According to the criminal complaint, the unnamed pimp would not let her call the police and discussed cutting up the body to hide what happened.
Wearing loose-fitting sweater and baggy grey sweatpants, Barini appeared in court on Monday August 26 and said very little when speaking to the judge — telling him “yes, sir” and “yes, your honor” when questioned, The Post reported. She did not enter a plea.
