VIDEO: Female LASTMA officer to be investigated and disciplined for assaulting a male passenger

A female officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) in Nigeria, is being investigated for possible disciplinary action, after the video below emerged showing the officer engaging in a fight with a passenger.

According to LASTMA, the incident occurred on Friday at Aromire junction off Awolowo Way, in Ikeja Lagos.

Details about what transpired between her and the passenger were unknown at the time of this report

LASTMA tweeted the following:

“This video was forwarded to the management and the officer has been invited for investigation and disciplinary action for misrepresenting the agency. The incident occurred at Aromire junction off Awolowo Way, Ikeja yesterday, Friday, 11th September.

“She is considered to have overreacted, regardless of the circumstances. She is expected at the headquarters on Monday, 14th September.”

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA for short, is a Lagos-State-owned traffic management agency that was created on July 15, 2000 to help maintain the level of sanity on Lagos major roads. The goal is to transform the state transportation system to ensure free flow of traffic in the state and reduce road accidents.
